GAV for Relief and Development Organization is seeking to contract a qualified and experienced expert to develop a comprehensive policy paper under the “Strengthening Women’s and Girls’ Leadership for Inclusive Governance and Civil Peace in Syria” project.
The assignment aims to develop an evidence-based policy paper drawing on the outputs of workshops and research findings, and to formulate practical and strategic recommendations that contribute to informing decision-makers and supporting advocacy efforts related to the project’s objectives.
Scope of Work and Key Responsibilities
The expert will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and analyzing the outputs of workshops and other relevant project activities.
- Reviewing and analyzing available research findings and evidence.
- Identifying key issues and challenges related to the project’s thematic areas.
- Developing and drafting a comprehensive, evidence-based policy paper.
- Developing practical and strategic recommendations targeted at decision-makers and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensuring that the recommendations are clearly linked to the findings of the workshops and research.
- Presenting the paper in a clear, professional format suitable for use in advocacy efforts.
- Coordinating with the GAV team and incorporating the required feedback and revisions.
- Submitting the final version of the policy paper in accordance with the agreed-upon standards.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in a relevant field, such as Political Science, International Relations, Law, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or another related field.
- Demonstrated experience in developing policy papers, research papers, and studies.
- Experience in analyzing data and information and translating research findings into practical recommendations.
- Good knowledge of inclusive governance, women’s and girls’ leadership and participation, civil peace, and advocacy.
- Experience working with civil society organizations and/or development projects is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of the Syrian context and issues related to women, governance, and peace.
- Excellent research, analytical, and Arabic-language writing skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate effectively with the project team.
Assignment Duration
